7/14/10 The Duck Lake Association meeting held Tuesday, July 13 was well attended and featured a lively and civil discussion of the mute swan issue. From the meeting minutes:

"Mute Swans – The Board distributed a flyer in June regarding the mute swans to all lake residents.  Since the distribution, Board members have had five comments from individuals in support of removing the swan and three comments in support of saving the swan.  There was much discussion amongst the Board and guests regarding the swans.  The discussion centered on eye-witness events of individuals harassing or teasing the swans and eye-witness events of the male swan flying at individuals. In both instances, the individuals tended to be on Personal Watercraft (AKA jet-skis).  It was mentioned that the swan was seen going after someone in a kayak.  The board asked for an informal show of hands both the removing the swan and for not removing the swan.  The show of hands indicated a fairly even split.  The Board chose to take no action."
